On 4 December 2020 SE Lithuanian Road Administration (later – the Road Administration) organized training for Lithuanian Road Police officers involved in traffic organization. During online training programme the Road Police officers were introduced to modern, verified and in EU countries widely used traffic organization solutions implemented on various types of roads.

“Road Police specialists usually take part in the coordination of traffic safety engineering measures‘ implementation projects and solution-taking in traffic organization. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to share the best practices in road engineering with our colleagues”, says Mr Remigijus Lipkevičius, Director of the Road Administration.

The educational programme developed by the Road Administration consists of four main subjects: engineering solutions of organizing vehicle and bicycle traffic, pedestrians‘ road and street crossing and the implementation of Road Traffic Regulations requirements in traffic organization. Discussions are held after the theoretical part. The representatives of the institutions discuss burning problems and look for the best possible solutions.

The Head of the Lithuanian Road Police Service Mr Vytautas Grašys emphasizes that “Road Police specialists actively cooperate with the Road Administration, hold preventive campaigns, organize traffic safety events for society, visit educational institutions, distribute traffic safety items for pedestrians and cyclists. The above-mentioned training is another step in close cooperation between the institutions aimed to develop and improve the competences of their specialists in traffic organization”.
